Business- and route development manager

Purpose of the role
In this position, you will be responsible for the commercial success of our Netherlands office and the route development of our overseas offices and agents. To achieve profitable sales and business growth for all modes of transport through direct contact with new clients is essential. This role requires a committed, innovative and energetic approach and the successful candidate will have excellent opportunities to develop with the company.
*Plan and organise your sales activities in the most effective ways.
*New customer business development.
*Trade lane development
*Building and maintaining customer network
*Sales Leads generation working with our overseas offices and agency network including supporting overseas visitors.
*Investigating ways to increase business
*Using marketing tools to approach and gain new business.
*Provide weekly & monthly performance reports to your direct Manager.
*Provide weekly customer reports to your direct Manager,
*Work closely with our Branch Manager
Skills and Experience
*At least 3 years proven successful sales track record within the freight forwarding sector.
*Previous experience of selling Air & Ocean freight services.
*The ability to meet / exceed targets.
*Strong communication skills both in Dutch & English
*An understanding of import and export procedures.
*You must be a highly motivated self-starter.
*A strong knowledge in the US market would be an advantage.
*Able to manage your own diary efficiently.
*Ability to develop new business
*Good communication skills
*Possession of a driving license
*Strong team player
*A genuine desire to succeed and progress
You will be based at Schiphol Airport and report into the local Branch Manager & Senior Vice President of Europe.
