Business Development Manager - Road
Take on the challenge of extending our road distribution footprint within the Netherlands. With the support of a team of experts you are responsible for increasing our road client portfolio within the Netherlands. You will work in close collaboration with our Transport Management Control Tower in Enschede to ensure the successful execution of the GEODIS Netherlands road product strategy. Build a solid pipeline of potential business opportunities and ensure the growth of new clients within our road freight network.
As a Business Development Manager you are comfortable in working under commercial targets in a highly independent manner. You will be part of the GEODIS Business Development Team as well as work closely with our Transport Management team on both a local and regional level.
Part of your responsibility is to gauge your partners for their needs in road freight logistics and work together with the product team to build on new service offerings.
3 to 5 years’ experience in a commercial logistics environment in a business development role and/or knowledge of transport management logistics
A bachelor degree relevant to logistics or international business management
Have a basic understanding of corporate financials (costs, loss, profit, buy-ins);
excellent language skills in both Dutch & English and good intercultural relationship skills;
an insatiable appetite to learn so you are up-to-date with the branch and latest trends; flexibility to be reachable for escalations outside working hours and willingness to back up your colleagues during absence or peaks;
you are a service-minded listener and convincing communicator, ready to be challenged by demanding high-profile clients and fulfil their logistical needs!
You are well experienced in handling a client portfolio whilst developing new business with hot prospects
