Business Development Manager - Freight Forwarding

Responsibilities:
• Acquiring and managing international clients with a focus on Air Freight Forwarding
• Building and promoting strong, long-lasting customer relationships by partnering with them and understanding their needs
• Achieving growth with existing customers and hit sales targets with new customers
• Generating new (sales) leads for the program within the network (push & pull);
• Analyzing the needs and wishes of potential customers based on digital technology and create value proposals that ensure a win-win situation
• Negotiating the value proposal with both the potential customer as well as with internal stakeholders (i.e., digital solution, commercial conditions)
• Ensuring a smooth transition after the win to trading customer and ultimately to our operations team for retention and further growth
• Drafting and implementing the sales strategy plan(s) in line with the company Strategy and Business plan
• Building and maintaining excellent relations with (key) customers
• Ensuring effectiveness and success (= on target) of sales incl. target setting and monitoring;
• Coordinating and ensure the efficient use of systems, staff and other resources
• Coordinating, ensuring and managing margin(s) of new business
• Work according the applicable SOP’s (Standard Operating Procedures).
Desired Requirement:• You are a real 'deal maker' with good sales qualities;
• Background and experience with operational, pricing, and financial processes
• A customer centric mindset and experience in driving business development
• Preferably, you have an affinity with IT and Supply Chain solutions (Order Management & Freight Management)
• Basic knowledge of operational regulatory policies
• Excellent communication skills in Dutch, English and/or additional European languages
• Excellent presentation skills
• Cultural awareness
• A genuine interest in supply chain and logistics
• Problem solving, communicative, independent, managerial, analytical and you set priorities
• Result-oriented, customer-oriented, convincing, influencing, motivating, coaching, and commercial
• Analytical insight, flair, team development, organizer, coordinator, integrity, reliable
Functie-eisen:
Education: At least a Bachelors’ degree, preferably in Logistics and Economics or Supply Chain Management
Experience: 3+ years of relevant – sales – experience for medium and larger (international) customers
Specific knowledge: Airfreight Business Development + Operations
